Call for volunteers

Friends for Life is now aiming to grow its volunteer numbers to be able to support up to 180 older people by 2025. Its volunteers focus on befriending those in care homes in the Bedford area, who may often have dementia and often have no family or friends to visit them. As well as its befriending service, over the last couple of years FFL has also introduced a rolling programme of poetry reading and Music for Memory sessions as well as arranging for robotic animals and creative materials to be made available to the residents. Future plans include increasing the number of schools they work with, boosting the cross-generational work which we know benefits both the school children and residents.
